Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt, Jr. will host a Peabody Dog Park groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, May 30th at 3:30PM at the site of the city’s first dog park on Perkins Street across from Coach Bob Driscoll’s Old Time Skating Rink.

Joining the Mayor will be members of the City Council, Parks Commission, Community Preservation Commission, and Friends of the Peabody Dog Park.

“There are so many people in Peabody who love and care for dogs, said Mayor Bettencourt.  “It is only fitting that our city has a place that dogs and their people can call their own.”

The city was awarded $24,000 by The Stanton Foundation to hire an architect and design the new park. The foundation grant also covers the majority of construction costs.
