Mayor Schedules Spring Curbside Yard Waste Pickup

From the Mayor’s Office:

(April 2, 2018) Due to many resident requests, Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt, Jr. has announced a series of curbside yard waste collection dates this Spring.

“Following our long winter, which included three March Nor’easters, my office has received many calls from residents looking for help in getting rid of downed tree branches and brush,” Mayor Bettencourt said.  “In response, I have scheduled a series of free curbside yard waste collection days beginning the week of April 9th.”

During the week of April 9th on their normal trash pickup day, residents may leave their yard waste curbside in paper bags or barrels.  No yard waste in plastic bags will be accepted.  All yard waste should be picked up no later than 3 p.m.  Residents should note that haulers may pick up regular trash first and return later in the day for yard waste.  There is no charge for curbside yard waste collection.

In addition to yard waste in paper bags and barrels, trash haulers will pick up downed tree branches.  Residents are asked to bundle and pile the branches in three to four feet lengths.  Large branches may not be picked up.  Should that happen, residents may contact the Mayor’s office for assistance picking up larger branches left curbside.

In addition to the week of April 9th, Mayor Bettencourt scheduled three additional curbside yard waste pickup days as follows: the week of April 23rd, May 7th and May 21st.
